We’ll break down the current NRCPD / RBSLI requirements and share straightforward strategies for logging activities, planning ahead, and making sure your CPD supports your career and everyday practice.


In this session, you’ll get clear, up-to-date guidance on what’s expected for CPD, along with practical advice to help make your efforts more meaningful and manageable. You’ll leave with ideas for keeping your CPD records simple and organised, so that revalidation is less stressful and your progress is easy to evidence.


What we’ll cover:

  • Practical CPD Planning: Build a plan that fits your professional goals and helps you make your CPD more relevant to your work.

  • Efficient Record-Keeping: Learn straightforward ways to keep your CPD up-to-date and ready for NRCPD revalidation.

  • Reflective Practice and Learning Cycles: Explore the basics of reflective practice and learning cycles, and see how they can support your development and make revalidation easier.

  • Identifying Strengths and Development Areas: Find out how to assess where you’re confident and where you’d like to improve, so you can set realistic CPD goals and track your progress over time.


The session is interactive and discussion-based, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and get support with the practical challenges of managing your CPD.

Stephen has been interpreting for the past 16 years, in a broad variety of domains, most recently specialising in VRS/VRI interpreting. Stephen has worked with a range of organisations to establish and deliver mentorship programs and training for interpreters, both in-house and freelance and developed a range of CPD courses for qualified professionals. Stephen was the lead tutor on the NVQ 6 Diploma in BSL-English Interpreting programmes teaching both underpinning theory and Signature Diploma in interpreting for 10 years.
